Keeping receipts the IRS and CRA will accept

Automation should remove steps, not add them

Every deduction rests on a record. A bank line that says AMZN MKTP US is not much help. A receipt that shows what you bought, when, and from whom is. Digital copies are generally fine.

Start with the highest-volume task

Forward a receipt to your Mintas inbox, connect Gmail, or upload a photo. Mintas reads the vendor, date, total, currency and tax, then suggests the transaction it belongs to. You confirm the match.

Use no-code flows with clear rules

Gmail access is limited to emails that carry a PDF attachment. Everything else in the inbox stays out of view. Documents that are not financial, such as contracts, go to the Vault instead.

Review the results every month

This is general information, not tax advice. The IRS and CRA publish their own guidance, and a tax professional can tell you what applies to you. Mintas does not file taxes.
